Electricians sometimes work at heights, in confined spaces and often out in the elements. Electricians are required to follow blueprints, specifications and the National Electrical Code. To install wiring, Electrical Workers may bend, fit, and fasten conduit (pipe or tubing) systems in a variety of applications.
For safety, electricians strictly follow the requirements of the National Electrical Code and, in addition, must comply with state, county and municipal code requirements.

Apprentices in the Inside (Commercial) program complete over 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and a minimum of 180 hours of classroom instruction. Residential and Telecommunications apprentices complete over 6,000 hours of on-the-job training and a minimum of 160 hours of classroom instruction.
Apprentices attend classes a minimum of 5 times a year for one week at a time, Monday – Friday.
Applications are accepted year round at the training center. The hours are Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
